The New Zealand Resuscitation Council (NZRC) recommendations for Level 4 cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on an infant have been incorporated into the our Integrated Simulator.
Learn how to perform CPR on an infant by seamlessly moving between the learning media; text, video, anatomy and simulator. In the simulator, learn how to perform basic life support (BLS) on an infant in learn mode or test yourself in test mode by choosing medical tools with your computer mice and performing CPR in a virtual environment. Examine your performance in either mode in your personalized logbook and print this record for your own documentation.
Read a concise step-by-step description of the fundamentals of CPR specifically for an infant; mouth-to-mouth-and-nose, mouth-to-mouth, and bag-mask breathing using the “E-C” technique; and one-handed or thumb-encircling hands compression technique . Watch a video of a scenario using an infant performed by an expert and observe the important elements being demonstrated. Rotate or zoom the applied anatomy of the cardiopulmonary systems to highlight the vital organs.
Simulate the essential steps of CPR in an exciting and enjoyable interaction. Perform the head-chin tilt maneuver and check for breathing and circulation. Learn the correct rate, depth and positioning for chest compressions in an infant by visualizing a cross section of the chest being compressed and released during a segment of a chest compression cycle.
The CPR module developed for health professionals using The New Zealand Resuscitation Council Recommendations (Level 4) enables you learn or strengthen your cardiopulmonary knowledge and skills in a fun and stimulating manner.
